This unique event brought Champions Tour golfers together with NASCAR drivers in a charity pro-am in conjunction with this week's Allianz Championship. The first Drive For The Wives Pro-Am was held at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., in May of 2005.

Champions Tour players Fuzzy Zoeller, Gary Player and Tom Kite headlined the field for the 18-hole event along with NASCAR drivers Ken Schrader, Mike Skinner and Boris Said. The Champions Tour Wives and The Women's Auxiliary of Motorsports will use proceeds from the event to fund their charitable missions.

"We are extremely excited to be working with the Women's Auxiliary of Motorsports, Inc." said Michelle Green, past president of the Champions Tour Wives, Inc. and wife of Champions Tour player Hubert Green. "So many of the drivers are taking up golf that it seems like a natural fit to bring these two sports together. We hope that bringing together the popularity of golf and racing will help us to continue our tradition of giving back to the tournament cities we visit throughout the year."

The event kicked-off Sunday night with a Super Bowl XLI party at Morton's Steakhouse, including a silent auction. Monday's pro-am featured 18 pro-am teams consisting of one NASCAR driver/owner, one Champions Tour player and two amateurs. The team of Champions Tour player Wayne Levi, NASCAR driver Kevin Lepage and amateurs Gary Rusk and Chris Chop took home top honors. The pro-am served as the official pro-am for the Allianz Championship.

Competitive play at the Allianz Championship will begin Friday. All three rounds can be seen live on GOLF CHANNEL, from 1-3 p.m. ET on Friday and from 1-4 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday.
