ORLANDO, Fla. ? PGA TOUR veteran Chris DiMarco is recovering from arthroscopic surgery performed Wednesday on his left shoulder. The surgery was performed at the Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic by Michael V. Jablonski, M.D.
Dr. Jablonski performed a non-invasive procedure to clean up a bone spur around the acromioclavicular joint (AC joint).
DiMarco's recovery period is expected to be in the four- to six-week range.
"I am glad I was able to take time off to have this surgery so that when I resume playing I can do so pain free," said DiMarco. "I can't wait to get back out and swing without pain."
A three-time winner on the PGA TOUR, DiMarco recorded his first top-10 of the season with a tie for fourth at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, his third top-10 in four years in Akron. In 17 events this year, he has finished in the top 25 six times and earned more than $950,000.
The Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic has been an integral part of traditional health care in Central Florida for over 70 years. It was founded in 1936 by Dr Eugene L. Jewett who is known the world over as a pioneer in Orthopaedic care.
