Glover highlights 2007 Hall of Fame class at Clemson

Sep. 7, 2007

CLEMSON, S.C. -- PGA TOUR veteran Lucas Glover and San Diego Padres shortstop Khalil Greene highlight the 2007 Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame induction class. The induction ceremonies will take place Saturday at halftime of Clemson's game with Louisiana-Monroe in Death Valley.

In addition to Glover and Greene, the 2007 inductees include All-ACC basketball guard Terrell McIntyre, All-ACC women's basketball player Amy Geren, and All-America track athlete Kerry Robinson, as well as three Clemson football players -- All-ACC running back Lester Brown, All-America place kicker Nelson Welch and All-ACC quarterback Woody Dantzler.

Glover was a three-time All-American between 1998-2001, including a first-team selection as a junior and senior. He helped the Clemson program to four top 10 national finishes, including a second-place finish in 1998 and a third-place finish in 2001. Glover still ranks third in Clemson history in career stroke average with a 71.95 average and he is third in rounds at par or better (86). Glover was named to the ACC 50-Year Anniversary team in 2002.

A member of the United States Walker Cup team in 2001, the Clemson graduate will again represent America as a member of the U.S. Presidents Cup team in the matches later this month at Royal Montreal. Glover is the grandson of Dick Hendley, Clemson Hall of Fame inductee in 1984. Hendley played football and baseball at Clemson between 1946-51. This is the first grandfather and grandson hall of fame combination in Clemson athletic history.

Greene, Dantzler and Glover all competed at Clemson at the same time during the 2000-01 academic year.
