PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Eight-time PGA TOUR winner Brad Faxon, 46, had successful foot surgery Tuesday at Rhode Island Hospital's Ambulatory Care Center in Providence and is recuperating at his home in Barrington, R.I.
Faxon is expected to return to the PGA TOUR to begin the 2008 season. Dr. Chris DiGiovanni of the hospital's UniversityOrthopedicsCenterperformed two surgeries on Faxon's right foot -- a bunionectomy and a nerve release on his tarsal tunnel.
Faxon will not be able to play golf for about three months. He will have a cast on his foot for two weeks, and it will take an estimated six weeks for the bone on his foot to heal.
