With three first-time major winners, the debut of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup and an "away" victory for the United States Presidents Cup team, 2007 turned out to be a big year on the TOUR. Check out some of the numbers that made 2007 unique.

Number that could win you a bet

2The fewest number of birdies made on any hole in an official event on the PGA TOUR in 2007. The hole was the 407 yard par-4 13th at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, home of the Mercedes-Benz Championship. For the tournament, it was both the hardest hole on the course for players to hit the green in regulation (56%), and had the highest number of average putts (2.12). The most birdies made on any par-4 hole in 2007 was 198 on the 15th at the Grayhawk Golf Club Raptor course in Scottsdale, Ariz., during the Fry’s Electronics Open.

2,621The average number of dollars per stroke earned by Tiger Woods in official PGA TOUR events in 2007: Woods played in 16 events, took a total of 4,146 shots, and earned $10,867,052. That also averages out to $679,191 per event.

5.7Strokes over par was the highest scoring average for a course on the PGA TOUR in 2007. The par 70 Oakmont CC, the venue for this year’s 2007 U.S. Open, yielded an average score of 75.7 by all players in the field. The lowest average scores were posted on the Torrey Pines North Course during the Buick Invitational, with a field average of 68.7, 3.3 strokes under par.
19Three-putts were the fewest by any TOUR professional in 2007. Sergio Garcia had only 19 three-putts over 68 rounds and 1118 holes, meaning that he three-putted only 1.6 percent of the time.
