SCOTTSDALE, Ariz -- Arron Oberholser underwent surgery in Scottsdale today to remove a loose fragment of the hamate bone in his left hand.

"The doctor said everything went fine," said Oberholser. "I've been through this before with my right hand so I know what comes next -- rest and rehab for four or five weeks. The long range goal is to be fully ready to compete when the Tour starts again in January."

Oberholser injured the hand at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in May. He hoped to complete the season with the injury and did play 11 more events before being forced to withdraw from the BMW Championship in September and the Omega Mission Hills World Cup.
