Top 5 Movers: Wyndham Championship PGATOUR.com Coordinating Producer How crazy was the movement in the FedExCup standings after the Wyndham Championship? Perhaps the most important move -- by the winner of the tournament -- didn't even crack the list of the top five movers. Brandt Snedeker's first PGA TOUR victory moved him 17 spots to ninth as the first tournament of the brand new PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup looms this week at The Barclays in Westchester. Also left off the list is Andres Hansen, who moved up 14 spots to 137th and into the Playoffs after his T11 finish in Greensboro. Let the battle begin. Last Week: Wyndham Championship ![]() Biggest mover: Jeff Overton Overton's history at Westchester, albeit a brief one, is a successful one. He fnished T29 in his only appearance there in 2006. The effort included a second-round 65. In the interest of full disclosure, Overton has played seven events on the Nationwide Tour this season. Ironically, he did not have a top-10 finish in the bunch. His best finish was a T13 at the Henrico County Open. ![]() Welcome to the top 100: Tim Petrovic Petrovic's best finish at Westchester was a T28 run in 2004. Incidentally, if things boil down to a putting contest during the Playoffs, Petrovic may have an edge. He's 15th on TOUR in putting average at 1.758. He's also 13th in birdies at 277. ![]() Welcome to the top 50: Billy Mayfair Speaking of things to keep an eye on, Mayfair is 11th on TOUR in final round scoring average at 69.79. The Barclays has also been kind to Mayfair -- he fnished T7 there in 2005 after a final-round 66. ![]() Welcome to the field: Shigeki Maruyama Maruyama's putting seems to be up to snuff -- he's seventh on TOUR in putts per round at 28.28. He also has interesting history at The Barclays -- he has two top-30 finishes in his past three events there. ![]() Another strong move for: Kevin Stadler Stadler was also T13 at Cancun earlier this season. |
