Editor's Note: Padraig Harrington earned his third PGA TOUR title and first major championship at the British Open on Sunday. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Harrington, who will head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship in 2008.

It was only a matter of time. Great job! Good luck in the FedExCup. Andy

Well deserved. I've been pulling for you for years, and you finally climbed that mountain. Congrats, Padraig. John

I knew you had it in you. I never lost hope in you. The way you bounced back from the 72nd hole was an inspiration. Brenton

I'm a big Tiger fan but hey, you deserved this win 200 percent! You were obviously very well prepared and played excellently during the final round -- gave me a heart attack with the 18th hole, but at the end it just allowed us to watch an extra 4 holes of great golf, so thank you after all! This will also be a great jump for you in the FedExCup. I'll be looking forward to seeing you making some great noise there, too! Congratulations and good luck! Tamas

Ireland forever! Your Dad is proud of ya, and so is the whole of Ireland! Congrats! I knew you had the heart and soul for a major. James

Fantastic! You earned the win! Very refreshing to have a player with your caliber and class to win the Open! Enjoy the moment! It was very touching to see your boy run to your arms after the 18th hole of regulation. It did not matter if you had won or lost. Good luck in the future. Tom

God bless the Irish! Nobody fights like we do. I'm very happy for you. A lot of people would have quit having hit two in the burn on the 72nd, but it made the perfect story for your first major. I'm sure you'll teach your boy to believe, too. All the best to you and your loved ones. Patrick

The Leprechauns are dancing today! After 60 years, the Irish are celebrating with you, Lad Harrington. Congratulations to you! Bill

Fantastic mental strength after that final hole double bogey. You now have the mind set to go on to further major successes. Well done. Richard

You demonstrated strong will and bold courage that gave you your first Open championship. Hats off to you! Dee

When you walked away from 18 after a double bogey that might have cost you the British Open, you picked up your son with a big smile on your face. I said to my wife "This guy is a real champion." The rest is history. May you have many more of them! Cyril

Ever since I read your interview in Golf Digest back in February of 2006, you have been my favorite golfer. It was not because of your perfections but instead, your imperfections. I am 14 years old now, and I am working so hard to make my high school's golf team. I completely understand how you feel when you said you worked so hard for your win at the Open, because I have always understood your will to win in golf even if you're not the best player in the field. I congratulate you so much for your win at the 136th Open, and it is driving me even more to work hard like you to try to achieve my goal like making my team. Steven

Nice guys can finish first! Filipino golfers are happy for you and for the Irish people. More majors to win! God bless your family! Enrico

You are a most worthy champion. Your acceptance speech of gratitude and appreciation made me proud to be a golfer and claim being a fan of the most admirable professional sport on the planet. David

Well done! If Tiger couldn't win, you were my next choice. Your gracious acknowledgements to those who helped you chart the path to this victory were in keeping with the historic enormity of the Open Championship. The Irish in me was smiling. Grace

Fantastic play! That was a great show of putting and a wonderful ability to steel the nerves at the right time! I loved the show of patience, intelligence, and execution on the last hole of the playoff! Well done, Padraig! David

Congratulations for been the Open champion. You did was something that all us golfers have to learn how to do, turn one bad hole like 18 with a double bogey and still did not give up, as in golf anything can happen till the ball is in the hole. Well done again. See you in Shanghai this November. Kim-Yin

Many thanks for the wonderful times you have given me over the years. Having watched you last week in the Irish PGA Open, you are such a beautiful person and kind human being which is a fantastic achievement when at this moment you are at the top of your sport. Some day I would hope to thank you personally for the feel-good factor you have given to so many people. Daniel

As I was watching you play the 18th, I was thinking about how awful it would be to score a six on the last hole and lose by one. But, when I saw how your face lit up when your son ran on the green, I knew what was really important in your life and pulled for you to win. For you to smile in that circumstance speaks volumes about you. I pulled for you to win somehow from that second on. John

Stellar performance. Way to bounce back. As the Irish say, "Simply Brilliant." Ed
