CLEMSON, S.C. -- PGA TOUR standout Lucas Glover will be inducted into the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame in September.

The announcement was made recently by Charlie Bussey, the executive director of the Clemson Letterwinners Association. The formal induction ceremonies will take place Sept. 7-8, the weekend of Clemson's home football game against Louisiana Monroe.

Glover was a three-time All-American at Clemson between 1998-2001, including a first-team selection as a junior and senior. He helped the Clemson program to four top-10 national finishes, including second place in 1998 and third place in 2001. The 2005 Clemson graduate still ranks third in Clemson history in career stroke average with a 71.95 average and he is third in rounds at par or better (86).

Glover, a native of Greenville, S.C., was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference 50-Year Anniversary team in 2002. A member of the United States Walker Cup team in 2001, the Clemson graduate is in his fourth full season on the PGA TOUR and ranked 21st on the final money list in 2006.

Glover is the grandson of Dick Hendley, A Clemson Hall of Fame inductee in 1984. Hendley played football and baseball at Clemson between 1946-51. This is the first grandfather and grandson hall of fame combination in Clemson athletic history.

Glover's induction will mark the fourth consecutive year that a golfer has been inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame. Current PGA TOUR players Charles Warren (2005) and Jonathan Byrd (2006) were recent selections, as was former PGA TOUR veteran Clarence Rose (2004). Dillard Pruitt, currently a PGA TOUR rules official, was inducted in 1998.

Glover is one of eight former Clemson greats who will enter the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame this year. He will be joined by Khalil Greene, the current starting shortstop for the San Diego Padres, who was a junior at Clemson when Glover was in his senior year.

Others entering the class will be Woodrow Dantzler, Clemson All-ACC quarterback in 2001 and another contemporary of Glover; former All-ACC running back Lester Brown; former All-American kicker Nelson Welch; former All-ACC basketball point guard Terrell McIntyre; All-ACC women's basketball guard Amy Geren and former women's track All-American Kerry Robinson.
