Editor's Note: Scott Verplank won his fifth PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Here are some of the e-mails PGATOUR.com received congratulating Verplank, who will head to Hawaii for the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship in 2008.

I just wanted to let you know what a great role model you are. I have a 10-year old daughter who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes just before her fifth birthday. She is doing great and just got an insulin pump within the last year. It is wonderful to be able to point to you and say, "Look, there is someone who excels at what he does who is just like you." Congrats on your win. You are very deserving. A fan out here in South Dakota.

I'm really happy for ya Scott. I cried too. I love the history of the game, I love to play the game, and I enjoy teaching youngsters both.
