Player exhibit to receive items from 50th Masters appearance ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The World Golf Hall of Fame will soon add to its featured special exhibit, "Gary Player: A Global Journey," with newly acquired items from Player's 50th Masters Tournament in April. With the new items in place, the special exhibit at the Hall of Fame will be extended through the fall of 2007. Player has agreed to lend the Hall of Fame items of clothing, hats and gloves worn throughout this week's Masters, as well as golf balls and a 50th anniversary custom-made golf bag that is being designed by Callaway Golf. "As a three-time Masters champion and one of only two golfers to play in the major 50 times, Gary's connection to The Masters, Augusta National and the rich history it represents is a significant part of his legacy," said Jack Peter, the Hall's senior vice president and chief operating officer. "On behalf of the fans of the game and the guests of the Hall of Fame, we are grateful for his willingness to share these items of historical significance. His exhibit has been extremely well-received since we opened it last year and we look forward to continuing to tell his story." "Gary Player: A Global Journey" tells the story of the world's most traveled athlete and explores the impact he has had on the game and beyond through a comprehensive collection of personal memorabilia, historic artifacts, images and video. The exhibit showcases a variety of themed areas representing Player's life on and off the course including The Grand Slam, The World Stage, The Knight's Shining Armor and The Legend of the Black Knight. "Gary Player: A Global Journey" will be on display at the World Golf Hall of Fame through the remainder of 2007 and is part of the museum's general admission. Admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame is $17 for adults with discounts for military, seniors and students.
