PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- Rolex has become the Official Timekeeper of the PGA TOUR and an Official Sponsor of the World Golf Championships through a new three-year marketing relationship that was announced Monday.

As part of the agreement, Rolex will keep time with clocks at the THE PLAYERS Championship, THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola and World Golf Championship events.

Additionally, Rolex will become the exclusive timepiece at the PGA TOUR's flagship TPC Sawgrass, home of THE PLAYERS. TPC Sawgrass currently is undergoing an extensive renovation that has included significant infrastructure work on THE PLAYERS Stadium Course and the construction of a new clubhouse. The golf course reopened in November. The clubhouse is scheduled to open this spring, prior to THE PLAYERS' new dates of May 7-13.

Rolex clocks will be integrated throughout the new clubhouse and be located at specific external locations.

"We are extremely pleased to announce this new partnership with Rolex, whose global reputation for excellence aligns perfectly with the PGA TOUR, the TPC Sawgrass and the World Golf Championships," said Tom Wade, chief marketing officer for the PGA TOUR. "Time obviously is a very important part of our sport, and Rolex has a longstanding presence in professional golf around the world. We are excited to welcome Rolex to our family of corporate sponsors."

"Our relationship with the PGA TOUR and the World Golf Championships establishes a strong new link between Rolex and the best in golf. Additionally, we're privileged to launch this new partnership in a very special year for the PGA TOUR," commented Allen Brill, president and CEO, Rolex Watch USA, Inc.

Rolex will support this new relationship through print, television and internet advertising, as well as integrating its proprietary software that determines and lists tee times in the respective time zones on PGATOUR.com and worldgolfchampionships.com.

Rolex also is the official timepiece of The Presidents Cup.
