Marcel Siem, who teamed with Bernhard Langer to win the WGC-World Cup for Germany in December, is sponsoring one of four new events on the 2007 European Challenge Tour, tour officials have announced. The new PostBank Challenge presented by Marcel Siem is set to be played July 12-15 at Golfclub Muhlheim in Germany.

Siem becomes the second active European Tour player sponsor an event on the developmental circuit. Three years ago, Thomas Bjorn created the Thomas Bjorn Open in his native Denmark. Siem and Bjorn are among many players to have advanced to the European Tour from the Challenge Tour.

In the span of three seasons, Siem advanced through the Satellite EPD Tour and Challenge Tour before winning the 2004 Dunhill Championship on the European Tour.

• Past champions Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand and Simon Dyson of England have entered the 2007 Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesian Open, tournament officials have announced.

The $1.05 million event, co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour, will be played Feb. 15-18 at the Damai Indah Golf and Country Club. Dyson is the defending champion, while Wiratchant won the title in 2005. His victory made Wiratchant only the second Thai golfer ever to win a European Tour crown.

Tom Lehman, the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup captain, and Duffy Waldorf, one of his assistants at the K Club, will bring a Ryder Cup flavor to the Telecom Italia Open, tournament officials have announced. The event returns to Castello di Tolcinasco Golf & Country Club in Milan, from May 3-6.

The American duo have long been close friends, and teamed up three times to win the old Hyundai Team Matches. Both will be competing in the Telecom Italian Open for the first time.

Lehman won the 1996 British Open, then went on to top the 1996 PGA TOUR money list and become ranked No. 1 in the world. Among his other victories are the 1996 Tour Championship and the 1994 Memorial Tournament.

Waldorf, a four-time winner on the PGA TOUR, is one of the most easily recognizable players in golf with his penchant for colorful shirts and caps. His best year was 1999, when he won twice. As a connoisseur of fine wines, Waldorf is sure to enjoy his visit to Italy.
