  • Another clear and chilly night can be expected across the area Saturday night. Temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s, which will lead to areas frost developing Sunday morning. Otherwise, sunny skies can be expected with temperatures warming into the low 60s. Light winds during the morning hours will increase by early afternoon out of the NW 10-20 mph with higher gusts
  • Co-leaders Justin Rose and Lucas Glover will be paired with John Rollins, who is two strokes in back of them, in the final grouping on Sunday at The Classic Course. Rose has been in the final pairing on Sunday twice in his career on the PGA TOUR and Glover has been in the final pairing only once.
  • Glover was there in the 2006 Buick Open with Tiger Woods, and finished two strokes back and T15. Rose was there in the 2005 Buick Championship with Ben Curtis and Woody Austin and finished third, and in the 2006 Canadian Open with Bart Bryant, where he finished T13.
  • Former BHCC champion Joe Durant climbed up the leader board on Saturday after firing a 4-under 68 at PGA West. Durant posted his third bogey of the week on his final hole on Saturday. His other two bogeys came on Friday at LaQuinta C.C. (No. 2 and No. 14).
  • Rookie Jeff Quinney posted a 6-under 66 at LaQuinta C.C. Quinney, who is making his 17th start on the TOUR (two as an amateur), sits four strokes back of the lead heading into the final round at the BHCC. His best effort on the TOUR is 29th at the 2002 International. Last week at the Sony Open in Hawaii Quinney managed to make the cut and finished 71st.
  • Justin Rose shares the lead heading into the final round of a TOUR event for the third time in his career. Rose led the 2006 Canadian Open by one stroke (finished T14) and the 2005 Buick Championship by one stroke (finished 3rd). Both of those were 72-hole events. This is the first time he has held the lead through 72-holes in a 90-hole event. Last year at the BHCC, Rose was six strokes back of the lead heading into the final round of the event.
  • Justin Rose shot a 2-under-par 70 at The Classic Club on Saturday. Rose stands at 20-under heading into the final round of the 90-hole event. On a similar note, Rose posted an 6-under-par 66 in the fourth round and 2-over 74 in the final round last year at The Classic Club, to finish tie for 10th.
  • Lucas Glover shot a 7-under-par 65, the low score of the day at LaQuinta CC to get to 20-under 268 through 72 holes and shares the lead with Justin Rose. Glover fired a 4-under 68 on Thursday at the Classic Club. Last year, when he finished T10 in his first appearance at the BHCC, he closed with a 6-under 66, tying for the low round of the day. Glover's first TOUR title came at the FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort, which is a multiple-course tournament played with amateurs the first two days.
  • Woody Austin posted the low round of the day, an 8-under-par 64 at Bermuda Dunes, which included eight birdies, two bogeys and an eagle at No. 18. He jumps up 42 spots on the leaderboard, from T66 to T24.
  • Defending champion Chad Campbell recorded an even-par 72 at The Classic Course on Saturday and missed the cut for the first time in five career starts in Palm Springs. The last defending champion to miss the cut at the BHCC was Joe Durant when he was defending his title in 2002. Since 1960, 10 players who were defending their title at the event missed the cut, one player withdrew and Jesper Parnevik in 2001 did not play.
  • Charles Warren recorded his third eagle of the week. Robert Allenby (-15), Justin Rose (-20) and Charley Hoffman (-16) lead the tournament in birdies with 24 each. Jonathan Byrd, Lucas Glover and Joe Ogilvie are next on the list with 23 each. Jeff Quinney (LaQuinta CC) and Kirk Triplett (LaQuinta CC) recorded two eagles during their round on Saturday.
  • Jim Rutledge made the first eagle on a par 4 this week when he holed his second shot from 110-yards on the par-4 13th at the Classic Club on Saturday. There have been a total of 64 eagles this week, including two holes-in-one.
