First, congratulations on your win. I have followed your career since reading "A Good Walk Spoiled" when it first came out (undoubtedly because your road to the TOUR was [and has been] considerably more in doubt than most). I was both elated and thankful when you took second--to keep your card-- when the TOUR ended last November.

I hope you enjoy this win for a nice long time. I will. It was something special. It is very hard out there--and so few pros (relatively speaking) win tournaments--so for you to play as well as you did down the stretch (not to forget your 63)--well, what a great way to start the year.

Hi Paul, I don't know if you remember, long ago on the Hogan Tour I caddied for you in the Utah Open in Provo. I was a young married student at BYU and you were just beginning your career. You had won a couple weeks before, but it didn't carry the benefits it does now. You were so kind to me, and I had an absolute blast that week--and you made the cut. You took the caddie apron from me and let me play the last two holes of the pro-am on Wednesday as the "pro"-- Something I'll never forget. Anyway, I've followed your career since that weekend. I always check to see if you're in the field, and how you are doing. I was really happy to see you keep your card last year--in dramatic fashion- and I'm always pulling for you. I was so happy to see you get your second win! Congratulations to you and yours. Long Beach will be proud! Take care--your No. 1 fan in Idaho!

Congrats Paul! My wife and I met you, after your second round at Bay Hill, and were very impressed with your demeanor in the aftermath of a very disappointing two days.

Since that time we have been pulling for you even more, and were impressed with the grit you displayed at the Houston Open to keep your card for the balance of 2006, and were ecstatic with your performance in Tampa at the end of the year.

And yesterday was over the top! As you were walking up 18, I took out the hat that you signed for me, as a good luck talisman, and lo and behold-it worked!

Speaking of work-you have worked hard and deserve whatever good fortune comes your way.
