Watson set to go head-to-head with Zuback for charity

In a battle of the bombers, the PGA TOUR's Jason Gore, Kevin Stadler and Bubba Watson and five-time RE/MAX World Long Drive champion Jason Zuback will kick off the Nationwide Tour's Albertsons Boise Open when they compete for $1 million on behalf of four charities in the Kraft Shoot-Out presented by the J.A. and Kathyrn Albertson Foundation on Monday.

The GOLF CHANNEL will air live coverage from 4:30 - 7 p.m. ET. The back nine at Hillcrest Country Club in Boise, Idaho, will be the host venue.

The Kraft Shoot-Out pits the team of Stadler and Watson against Gore and Zuback with the $1 million purse divided among four non-profit organizations based on the outcome of two simultaneous competitions.

The four charities of the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation are the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County-Meridian Club, Community Detox Center, 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games and Treasure Valley YMCA-Horsethief Camp.

Stadler

Gore, Stadler and Watson graduated from the Nationwide Tour to the PGA TOUR in 2002/2005, 2004/2006 and 2005, respectively.

Watson leads the PGA TOUR in Driving Distance with an average belt of 315.2 yards. Gore averages 300.7 and Stadler 292.3. Gore won the 2002 Albertsons Boise Open. Stadler captured last year's title.

The nine-hole event calls for a skins competition with a dollar value assigned to each hole with ties carried over to the next hole(s).

The second format involves the best tee shot of each two-person team, with each hole's winner decided on the basis of either a closest to the pin or long drive contest.

Each competition will have a purse of $500,000, with the values starting at $20,000 on the first hole and rising to $100,000 on the ninth. Additional details are available upon request.

The Albertsons Boise Open presented by First Health is one of four original Nationwide Tour events dating back to 1990, joined by tournaments in Knoxville, Tenn., Springfield, Mo., and Wichita, Kan..

In addition to its coverage of the Kraft Shoot-out, The GOLF CHANNEL will televise all four rounds of the Nationwide Tour event, Thursday through Sunday (Sept. 20-23), from 6:30 - 9 p.m. ET.
