Q&A: Sterling Sharpe Editor's note: Former Green Bay Packer great Sterling Sharpe is part of the celebrity rotation playing in the BWM Charity Pro-Am at the Cliffs this week. Sharpe, who was an All-American at South Carolina, spent some time with PGA TOUR media official Chris Reimer for this Q&A. ![]() Sterling Sharpe (WireImage) PGATOUR.com: You and your brother are known as some of the game's great trash talkers. Have you been able to take that to the golf course? What would some good golf trash talk sound like? Sharpe: You can't trash talk in golf. Rory Sabbatini found that out. PGATOUR.com: Who is the better golfer between you and Shannon? Sharpe: I am, because Shannon doesn't play much. PGATOUR.com: What's more difficult, catching a pass from Brett Favre in -2 degree weather at Lambeau field or hitting a 4-iron? Sharpe: Hitting a 4-iron, by far. Playing football came easy to me. Golf is what I want to do; football is what I loved to do. PGATOUR.com: Any urge to do the Lambeau Leap into the crowd today? Sharpe: I'm not a celebrater. PGATOUR.com: What would the best golf "touchdown celebration" be? Sharpe: I don't think you can have it. Golf is too quiet. You can't ride the pony like Happy Gilmore. PGATOUR.com: Have you played golf with Coach Steve Spurrier yet? Sharpe: I played with him about five years ago. He played pretty well. He's doing a very good job with the Gamecocks considering where he is and what his task is. You are going against kids that want to go to Florida, Georgia and LSU. It's very difficult to recruit against them and get kids to go to South Carolina. But he's doing a great job. PGATOUR.com: Dream foursome? Sharpe: Annika, Tiger, Phil and Jack. PGATOUR.com: Most embarrassing golf moment? Sharpe: The first time I ever played. |
