McKINNEY, Texas -- PGA TOUR veteran Corey Pavin played with Army Staff Sergeant Jason Pepper at the PGA TOUR's America Supports You charity golf tournament at TPC Craig Ranch last week.

Pepper was selected from more than 50 wounded warriors who applied in a contest on the Operation Homefront Web site to play with Pavin, who is a spokesperson for the organization.

Pepper is medically retired after an IED in Karbalah blinded him, leaving shrapnel permanently embedded in his brain, which causes severe headaches and seizures. During the IED explosion, he saved the lives of two other soldiers by pushing them out of the way.

Pepper also lost most of his left hand in the attack but remains an avid golfer. He currently lives outside of Nashville, Tenn., with family and is a full-time student.

What, today, is Operation Homefront began in 2001 as a military-spouse-generated idea. In response to the shortcoming of support for the families of deployed service members, CinCHouse.com members (military wives and women in uniform) created the project that has evolved into a major nonprofit charity serving 34 military communities.

Today, CinCHouse.com operates as part of the nonprofit Operation Homefront family. For more information, please visit www.operationhomefront.net.
